Steve and Anita in Mallorca
Испания
We moved to Mallorca more than 30 years ago as teachers in an international school.
A lot has happened in our lives since then.
This channel is about us, Steve and Anita, and is mostly set in Mallorca, though we do occasionally escape from the island.
You will see lots of different places on the island, many of them rarely seen by tourists.
We hope that you enjoy watching our videos and love to hear from our subscribers.
Suggestions for new videos are welcome and we will try to do what we can.
Thanks for taking the time to view our channel and come back soon as we add videos regularly.

Evil Under the Sun at Raixa Country House and Garden - Mallorca - Majorca - 29th June 2024
Please share with your friends. The Agatha Christie film "Evil Under the Sun", was largely filmed in Mallorca and one of the locations was the Raixa estate. The house has a museum, which is much improved over our last visit, with free audio guides. The gardens are well kept, but there is some rough walking to see some of the estate. I have included some clips from the film to show the locations...

HMS Diamond and other ships in Palma - Mallorca - Majorca - 27th June 2024

Please share with your friends. I read in the paper that the Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer, HMS Diamond, was in port so I had to go down and have a look. The vantage point I chose was the San Carlos Museum on the Dique Oeste, Porto Pi. What a amazing little place Steve
Looks lovely
Wow you find the best places ❤
How very refreshing, and a great start to the day, building up an appetite for breakfast. Thanks Steve and Anita.
Absolutely beautiful early morning swim you can not get better than that ❤xx
A great way to start the day.
Lovely to see Bellvet Castle again. Beautiful setting for the Concert. I remember sitting on that same stone wall that Anita sat on. Super memories. Thank You.😘
We love the setting for the summer concerts.
You are looking very handsome Steve ! Well done 🌸
Thank you.
Gracias Eduardo
The lunch looked absolutely amazing. Thanks for the look around the indoor market.
We both like our Indian curries!
Video encantador.
Gracias Eduardo
What a excellent concert in a wonderful setting. I enjoyed the photos at the end of the video. I am sure that some purists would have scoffed at the classic goes pop phase & the use of classical music in adverts for cornettos for example, but most people hear no classical music & would probably switch off it before even listening, which is such a shame. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Totally agree, adverts, films, even some children's programmes have lovely classical music that people are listening to without realising it. Hooked on Classics!!!
He conocido un mundo desaparecido. Saludos.
Lindos recuerdos Eduardo.
Lovely memories Eduardo. Hostal Cuba has not really changed so much inside and it used to be good for food but not now, I really like the area around here. Saludos. What are silkworms, do you really mean the worms that make silk?
@@dianeleahy3345 Silkworms are very popular here with the children. Our grandchildren had some recently. They weave a cocoon.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca oh I see, so it’s like a pet or an interest in natural history. I was confused I thought it was a name for something else. Thanks Steve for clearing my confusion.
Lovely acoustics - what a setting! Good old Mozart. We're back over 14th Sept for 10 nights - back in time for Amadeus on 26th!! Problem sorting holidays around Lodge Meetings 😇
It was a lovely evening with fine music. Hope to see you in September.
Thank you, my brother is on HMS Diamond, lovely to see his ship 👍
My pleasure.
It is now Saturday they are putting down a lot more of the boardwalks on the beach here in Palma Nova next door to jolly star and the new two called TUCO Beach restaurant that is very quiet at the moment They have also put up a new building on the sand next to the ramp going down near the old CANBLANK There’s also new ramp going down in front of the old camp, so a lot of things changing but very slowly as I have been here almost 2 weeks
We were down there this morning.
Thank you both what an enjoyable evening and it was good to hear you both remember like I do Mozart 40 in the charts in the 70s. A great time for classical pop. Love watching you daily over breakfast. Coming to Illetas in September to the Bonsol, our favourite place. Thanks once again.
Our pleasure!
The food looked yummy 😋 ❤x
It was very good.
I know the Santa Catalina district very well. There are many restaurants and we prefer to eat here rather than Palma center itself. The Santa Catalina market gets very busy at the bars. I really like this area and know Johnny’s very well. Thanks Steve and Anita. We to shall be travelling soon firstly off to Bilbao and then later back to Granada, my favourite city.
Hope you enjoy your top to bottom travels Diane. Two places on our list.
Lovely photo of you both....
Thank you 😊
Hola Steve @Anita...Love the videos you post very interesting to watch.... enjoy your day...
Thank you! You too!
It is a pity they decided to change the voting rights for ex-pats now, this should have been done prior to the vote on brexit. There might have been a different outcome to the result if this change was done then.
It was promised years ago, but never happened, until recently.
Really enjoyed watching this trip. Looks like a great place for the hikers. 1 toilet on the island could be an issue though. Glad to see you have braved a boat trip. Cheers 🍻
It was a great trip
wish, we could be there ❤❤
It was a lovely concert.
Another great video always informative and you both show us some hidden gems 👍👍👍👍
The food was delicious at Jonny's.
I don't know why you left the UK so many years ago but I know about myself. Not that I don't love Flanders, but it became unliveable because of politics and European regulations. Spain was still an alternative option at the time and of course the nice weather. Unfortunately, that has largely disappeared and the nice weather is the only reason to stay there. We do not live in tourist mode but participate in the Spanish administration and the Belgian administration, which does not make it easy because the European technocracy now has a full influence here. Because I remarried a Senegalese 20 years ago, there is the opportunity to live in Senegal where I now have a house. I have just been there for 11 months and I really like it... away from the European corruption and regulations, what a freedom that feels. Not everything is all roses and sunshine in Senegal either, but with my pension I am rich... I see things there that remind me of my childhood, hundreds of laughing children play in the street until late in the evening. Everything happens on the street, the family is still important and people of the third age are cared for and respected at home. There is religious freedom and everyone lives in peace, even families with different religious beliefs. The interference of the West is being scaled back, a new wind is blowing through Africa and it is about time. If I die I will not come back but will be buried in the family plot that will never be removed and that the family will take care of, I will not be forgotten there and it costs nothing. You will probably wonder why I occasionally make these personal reflections, it is due to a strange phenomenon whereby you become a bit like family through vlogs on RUclips, especially those that you respect, greetings Wally.
Thanks Wally, it is nearly 40 years since we left the UK to live in Mallorca and we too have seen many changes. The Spanish way of life is very family orientated and we to see children playing in the streets late at night. Mallorca has become expensive, but we get by and enjoy our lives here. Wishing you all the best, Steve and Anita.
Brilliant loved it all ❤xx
We are lucky to have such a wonderful orchestra on the island.
That was a lovely evening concert, very good acoustics. Thanks Steve and Anita.
Unfortunately, because of our travel plans, we are not going to make it to many of the concerts this year.
Top
Thanks for watching.
Great video, one we definitely do in August. Kust come back from makta*Valletta) wow what a place, did some island crossing and same journey in length amd paid 2EUROS EACH . its definitely a up and coming place , but definitely not mallorca!
Sounds interesting.
Hey Steve - I've not viewed your channel for a while, looks like you have a new camera, the clarity & colour accuracy is amazing with no trace of that annoying barrel distortion. Glad to see you are still in business!
Welcome back Geoff. I am now using mainly the GoPro 11 with some shots from my Sony camcorder.
Hi. I came over all Dr Who and decided to take a journey back in time, well 13 years. We do this post-election stuff too, but we do it in the rain. Only 70 days to go till Port de Soller.
This is a bit of ancient history!!!
Loved the Dragonera video. Only ever seen it from San Telmo. It really is gecko island. Your grandchildren do have a wonderful life living in Mallorca, Margaret from Longwick
Thank you Margaret. Mallorca is a wonerful place to live and a great place for the children to grow up.
I love the rugged, gravelly, natural places. You can get lost in time if you know what I mean.
No shops, no bars, no restaurants... just nature at its best.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca Yes, so much change in the world,we have to protect all the beautiful natural places where ever they might be.
How old are the children? They sound very young.
They are 8 and 5.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca Lovely, precious memories to be made, and you both are doing a good loving adventure of making them.
Hi Steve, it's Dawn here. I know your busy but when your next down in palmanova could you possibly take a look at the old canblanc apparently it's now open with an opening to the beach would just like to have a nosey. We are over with the family in September staying in ponentmar. Just want to thank you and Anita again for all you do your doing an amazing job and your videos keep me smiling. ❤
We drove past the other day and saw that they were busy working on it.
Nice one Steve...enjoyed this very much..than you...BEST to both 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it.
Lovely to hear your story 😊
Thank you.
Thanks for video Steve and Anita 😊
Our pleasure
That was a great video and great to see another side of Mallorca. Very noisy with the insects and the odd plane!
The cicadas can be very noisy.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca You should go to Bermuda with the tree frogs ...they are the size of a thumb nail, which we have never seen any on the few occasions we have been and make so much noise but it is a frog chorus thanks to mother nature just as the insects are
A very interesting place to visit, great for the children. The environment for the fish looks very well done. Thanks Steve, Anita, indie and Freya.
The aquarium is very good, but doesn't seem to attract many visitors.
This is a nice resort may try it sometime this year thanks for sharing the video have a great day😂
It is worth a look
Loved that trip on the boat xx
It was a lovely trip. We may stay a littl longer next time.
Many years ago we had a terrible crossing to San Telmo. I was dreading the returm trip back but it wasn't so bad. I could almost smell the pine trees. Thank you for the video.
Our crossing wasn't too bad, but I can imagine that it could be very rough.
Hi, I’ve been really enjoying your videos. We’re coming back to Mallorca later this month staying in Palmanova. We want to go to one of the markets and I was wondering if you’ve been to the Calviá market, or would you recommend travelling a bit further. TIA
Calvia ia a small market. The last time we were there it was hardly worth going to. Son Ferrer in bigger and about the same distance. If you are prepared to make a day of it, Inca or Sineu are woth the effort. Both would mean a bus into Palma then a train ride. You woud need to set off early, as the markets close around lunchtime.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca thank you so much for that. Might head up to Inca or maybe Pollensa then.
Looks like a nice day out, we are thinking of visiting majorca the end of September, how warm is it in September October time and is it rainy then 😊
September - October are usually great months, but there are often storms at the end of August, beginning of September.
What a great little trip. The island looked really interesting, with some good paths, sensible footwear required, obviously!!
We could have spent a lot more time there.
A great boat trip, and fantastic for the girls seeing all the flora and fauna. Does anyone live there? Has it ever been inhabited? Thanks Steve and Anita.
Dragonera is uninhabited, but there seemed to be a lot of workers there.
nice to see you both in Portals last week
It used to be our home territory.
